Case Study 1: Transitioning a Law Firm Private Practice

Our client, the owner of a successful law firm private practice, faced the daunting task of selling their business. They had a long-term RIA who didn't know where to begin with finding potential buyers. Hornsby, Benson & Hughes Co® stepped in to understand the client's business and sourced firms that met their criteria as PE buyers. We coordinated closely with the RIA and presented a series of prospective acquisition firms. After extensive discussions, introductions were made, enabling meetings between the client, the RIA, and the acquisition firm. Eventually, they successfully found a compatible firm to facilitate the practice's exit.

Case Study 2: Selling a Medical Private Practice

Similar to Case Study 1, a client who owned a thriving medical private practice had a long-term RIA. Their RIA was uncertain about where to start when it came to selling their practice. Hornsby, Benson & Hughes Co® worked closely with the client to understand their business and identified potential acquisition firms with the RIA. We then engaged in discussions with the RIA and facilitated introductions for meetings between the client, the RIA, and the prospective acquisition firm. This collaborative effort led to the successful transition of medical practice.

Our client, who inherited a significant amount of timberland, wanted to explore carbon offset projects to generate additional income. This initiative required establishing relationships for enrolling the property in voluntary and compliance carbon offset programs. We also assisted the RIA in sourcing a list of qualified buyers to interview and sell the carbon credits to.
